What do you like?: Stuff. I posted a whole list on my last app. Do you really need it again?
Tell us about you: I am me. I love to role play, and I love the Turks.
Why do you want to play this character?: The idea has been running around my head for a while now, but after talking with Hope, it really started to take shape. I like the way the character is starting to evolve in my head and I am excited to see how interactions with other characters will be. Plus... I love the Turks and I would love to play one, even if it isn’t Reno.
About the character:
First name: Rodiker
Last name: Ikari
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: A reddish auburn
Any nicknames?: Rod
What they look like: Rod is a thin wisp of a man being 5’11” tall and only weighing 175 pounds. He is built like a wire with good sculpted definition making him strong but still quick, flexible and agile. Rod’s body structure is one that will never allow him to be a square solid rock, he will always remain thin and twiggy, no matter how much he works out.
Sitting a top his head, Rod’s glowing reddish auburn hair is cut in a basic hair style. It is buzzed short in the back and filled with short spikes in the front. Rod styles his spikes with that classic organized mess that women seem to find attractive.
Most of the time Rod is seen in his Turk issue uniform being all prim and proper. When he is off duty he gives off the appearance of a “Club Go-er” with his cargo pants adorned with lots of extra straps and doohickeys and snug fitting shirts used to show off his muscles.
Body Details: Rod’s body at first glance looks pristine and perfect as any scars he has are well hidden. However, he carries himself with confidence as he would like to view himself better then most everyone else.
Personality: Rod is a sure footed, confident, arrogant prick who strives to always be the best and has always succeeded in that, until he joined the Turks. Ever since that fateful day when Reno kicked his ass and he was offered a job as a Turk, he as had to struggle to be the best. This had been a huge hit to his ego as he is not used to being second best. In his new regiment of training, Rod has set a new goal… to be better then Reno. Rod has begun to train extra hard in hopes to achieve this goal, however, whenever his goal is with in reach, Reno seems to find a way to make the gap bigger. It annoys Rod to no end that Reno can be to good with seemingly little effort. What started out as an intense and almost destructive struggle has now turned into a fierce brotherly competition which Rod uses to his advantage to better his skills.
Due to Rod’s intense competitive nature he does not seem to have very many friends. When he is not at work, which is rare, he can be seen riding his motorcycle or at a club picking up women. Rod is a fierce player and flirting with women is one of his favorite past times.
History: Rod was raised in a well off and very highly educated family on the plate. Becoming bored with his day to day life, at the age of fifteen Rod ran away from home to go live in the slums. He had heard many exciting stories and he wanted to see if life down under the plate would pose more of a challenge.
Shortly after making it to the slums, Rod joined a local motorcycle gang called the Doom Generation. Quickly and swiftly he traveled up the ranks and within two years he was second in command of the gang. Not being good enough for Rod, he planned an event that was sure to win him the command of the Doom Generation.
Wanting to seal his fate as gang leader, Rod decided he would break into the Shinra hanger and steal one of their motorcycles. Being the stealthiest he has ever been, Rod thought he successfully snuck into the hanger. Once he started to hot wire the selected bike, he found out how wrong he was. Apparently a brand new Turk by the name of Reno, had seen him on the cameras and followed him to see what he was up to. An argument ensued and after a good fight, Rod got his ass kicked. Rod had never lost a fight before. As he lay on the ground, trying to over come he pain, he wanted to know more about this Turk… he wanted to be better then him.
Rod heard a set of foots steps approach and a card was thrown on his chest. As he went to pick up the card he heard an older males voice from above, “You ever considered being a Turk? I’ll give you two days to think about it, unless you know what you want now. Do you know what you want?”
Rod panted and sat up on his elbows and answered the question, “I want to be better then him,” he said pointing at Reno.
The older voice chuckled and said, “Fine kid, your hired… you start tomorrow.” Thus began Rods employment with the Turks. For the next six month he went through his rookie training with Reno.
Materia owned: Armor: Elemental (1) = Ice (2) and Fire (1)
Weapon: Restore (2) and Counter (1
Battle gear: Armor is the Carbon Bangle with 2 linked material slots and one single. Weapon is a Baton with 2 single material slots.
Misc stuff about your character that doesn't fit anywhere else: Rod owns and severely loves his own private racing bike. This is a bike that he put together himself two year ago when he joined the Doom Generation. This bike is full of modifications and he pampers it to no end.
Stick your sample post here: It had been a very hectic day and for once, Rod was forcing himself to take some time to cool down. So what did he decided to do? He went to the hanger to go work on his bike. Using his hands, whether if they were used to take something mechanical apart, used to beat the crap out of something or used to fondle women, always seemed to calm his nerves, and right now he needed that.
His morning had not started out on the most pleasant note when his alarm clock went off an hour late. He knew he set it correctly before he went to bed as he always doubled check. Someone had managed to sneak into his room and change the alarm. Not having time to go get pissed off, he quickly threw on his pressed uniform and ran down the hallway to the morning briefing, tying his tie. The boss did not look happy as he walked in fifteen minutes late. At least it was only fifteen minutes.
Next it was off to morning training where even more pleasantness ensued. Rod had been the last one to the Training Hall as he stopped by his room to finish fully ready for the day. He looked around for a training partner and all he found was Reno. Oh god, why Reno. He hated training with Reno. Rod would bust his ass and actively try to improve himself and all Reno would do is kick his ass and gloat in his face. His anger and annoyance level rose so high he was not able to concentrate and the training was wasted. Don’t get Rod wrong, outside of work he enjoyed Reno’s company… to a point, but at work the man drove him nuts. No professionalism, no discipline, no effort and this guy was still one of the best. It drove him crazy!
After training Rod quickly hit the showers, wanting to get far away from the red head as possible. The hot water seemed to calm his nerves, relaxing him; however, when he got out of the shower he had a message on his phone. When he checked it, his bad day just got worse. His four day fling had been cut short because the girl had found another cuter and fiery guy. Rod slammed his head against a locker, there went his plans for tonight. Seeing as he needed to calm down again, he headed out to go work on his bike.
